Privacy Policy
Kept Tools is built for browser-first utilities with a narrow data boundary.
Privacy by architecture
Kept Tools processes tool content in browser memory. The boundary below shows what stays local and what normal hosting still sees.
What stays local
- Data Stays With You: All tools (password generators, QR codes, converters) run strictly in your browser. Absolutely no content is sent to our servers.
- Local Browser Storage: We use LocalStorage solely to store sanitized tool preferences (favorite tool IDs, recent tool IDs, and visit timestamps).
- No Trackers: This application does not use Google Analytics, third-party cookies, or any other tracking pixels.
- No Account Required: You can use all features immediately. We never ask for your email address or personal details.
- Verifiable Privacy: Our public privacy boundaries describe what stays in your browser and what normal hosting metadata may be processed.
What normal hosting may see
- Hosting Logs: Our hosting provider only processes necessary HTTP metadata (such as IP address and timestamp) for network security and performance.
Hosting still processes IP, timestamp, TLS metadata, and locale cookie when applicable for delivery — tool inputs and generated outputs are not part of that.
Data flow
No tool content or output is sent to servers or analytics. LocalStorage persistence stores only sanitized tool preferences (favorite tool IDs, recent tool IDs, and timestamps), while browser cookie persistence stores a locale cookie when applicable. Normal HTTP request metadata sent to hosting may carry that locale cookie, while tool inputs and generated outputs remain strictly excluded from server and analytics persistence or transmission.
Limitations
Results depend on browser capabilities and the hosting network still sees standard HTTP metadata. Privacy means content stays local, not that the network sees nothing.
